South Fraser Perimeter Road

Synopsis A new 40km, 4-lane, highway along the south side of the Fraser River from Deltaport Way in southwest Delta to 176th Street (Hwy 15) in Surrey. It is a project in the Gateway Program. Cost est. $1 billion. Route includes sections of Burns Bog, and residential neighbourhoods. Its primary purpose is for trucks moving containers in and out of Deltaport. The project received environmental approval in 2008. As of 2012 it continues to be built. |
