New Prosperity Mine/Fish Lake
|
Synopsis Taseko Mines Ltd. is proposing an open-pit gold-copper mine at Teztan Biny (Fish Lake), 195 km SW of Williams Lake in the Chilcotin. The mine would have destroyed Fish Lake. In 2010, a federal panel reported that the project would have significant environmental effects, and the government subsequently turned it down. A revised plan was submitted for review in 2011. |
