Catface Copper Mine

Synopsis

Imperial Metals Corp is continuing exploration drilling for copper on Catface Mountain in Clayoquot Sound. The proposal is for an open-pit mine. Catface is in the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and any mine would be visible and audible from Ahousat and Tofino. Of the 2010 drilling program, only 6 of 13 holes reached intended depth. Imperial has ingratiated itself with leadership of the Ahousaht First Nation.
