Northern Gateway Pipelines

Synopsis

Enbridge is proposing to build a pair of pipelines, 1170 km, between Bruderheim, Alberta, and Kitimat, BC. One pipeline would carry 525,000 barrels per day of tar sands bitumen to the coast for shipment by tanker to Asia and California, the other would carry 193,000 bpd of imported condensate from Kitimat to Alberta, where it is used to dilute bitumen for shipment in a pipeline. Joint Panel Review taking place in 2012 & 2013.
